When it comes to my projects, I like to fantasize about them becoming popular worldwide and earning me a lot of money and whatnot. Who doesn't?

Sometimes I think who would I hire to play in a life-action movie or provide voice for the animation for some of my characters. This helps me think about who my characters are.

Digital appliances are trying to take over the world using psychological warfare.

I've finally got my bro's laptop that would be a definition of an immobile electronic device, but that's not a problem since I wouldn't be carrying it around anyway. A bigger pain is that my mp3 player is broken. Again. And it won't allow any formats.

Other thing: iTunes. My bro left his on the laptop and told me to use this as a music player. If all of Apple software are as comfy as that one, I wonder who programs them. Misfits, psychos, twisted slaves maybe? iTunes looks great, but it's interface is horrible. I'm going back to Winamp.

Sometimes I say that the community spirit of dA is completely lost on me. Not only in dA I dare say. It's a funny thing, anytime I log on a MMO game I avoid joining parties, clubs or guilds at all cost. I only hang around other players when I need them to get monsters' attention. But back on topic.

There are of course some pros of the community here, like the Pepper Project http://pepperproject.deviantart.com/ but there are some other things that really irritate me. More accurately: the Memes. What's more, I've been making that mistake in my school notebooks as well! The only class during which I got it right was German. Probably because I write it like "Donnerstag, den 10. Januar 2008" instead of my usual "10 I 08".

I hate German*.

They're previewing 4e art on the D&D website and today they've shown a real monster, RAWR! http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/art_preview/20080425_114780_rar_0.jpg

The upcoming 4e might put my Mercenaries in an awkward situation. They would probably have to undergo slight changes and Bghrun would have to be dropped. But since it will be several months till 4e is translated and sold in Poland, I have some time to decide whether to update them or not.

Let's face it, no bipedal lizard will be as good as a half-orc-half-drow.

There is something that irritates me - there are some 19 deviants watching me, but only two of them leave their comments, and that's my brother and a girl I know personally. One of the reasons for me to create a dA account was to receive other, strange to me people's opinions whether I'm good or not, how to improve and what I might find interesting to draw. That void depresses me.

Look, I've made a dumb pun in the journal name, can I replace Mark Rosewater at WotC?

I've finished inking and turned to colour background first. I've made some terrible mistakes, but I'm not correcting them right away, when I already have characters positioned correctly.
Should take a week or two.

Off-topic: Yesterday's Euro 2008 Poland - Germany match: goals were scored by the right person in the wrong team ;)

I've done some basic background and light effects plus I started colouring characters. Funny thing, I've always seen them in colour with my mind's eye, but I never realized how colourless Shino is for example.

SHREDDLOCK - I've done some cape shading, but the lower part needs fixing. Sword is almost complete. I think it won't take long, provided I'll work on this thing specifically.

I've also started a picture of Gaciya, but since it doesn't feature her gorgeous dress (or any dress at all) I probably won't be uploading it. What's the point if she can't show off with her clothes?

As you can see, I've finished Shreddlock and I posted a little preview of the upcoming Hellspike piece. I've also finished the picture of Gaciya, but due to the lack of clothes I'm reluctant to post it. Should I?

Of course I'm up to my ears with many other tasks, but they are not anything I will be posting here.

It's my birthday today! Yay!

My Witcher contest entry is half done. Would have been finished by now, but I scrapped the initial idea and decided to make something more connected to the actual game.

I also have a great idea for a picture, but I wouldn't be able to pull it off correctly and I don't have enough cash to commission someone. Maybe something will happen with it in future.

Some time ago I stated that if I ever was to create a webcomic, that would mean that I failed to publish it. I'm changing my attitude now. me and my brother will be launching a series of short netcomic novels to test ourselves before bugging publishers.
Thus Desert Blues goes on hiatus.

I'll probably have to delay this whole "commissions" idea for a while. Exam session is looming around the corner and military service will still be compulsory for at least two years. The studies pretty much drain me of energy so I have difficulty with doing anything creative anyway.

You may be wondering why am I not uploading recently.

There are three reasons:
1. Not enough energy/time/whatever I need to draw
2. Not satisfied with recent digital pieces
3. Sketchbook. Yup, I stopped sketching on separate pieces of paper and use a sketchbook instead. I chose one from which pages are not removable. The upside is that it doesn't fall apart. The downside is I have no idea how to scan things from it in a way that won't damage it and the scan will look good.


I'll work more on digital art though and I'm still open for commissions.

I knew that my laptop hated me for a time now. I know it's natural for computers to get laggy over time, but this is getting really bad. Worse thing is I can't clean it up, because there is some software I have no way of reinstalling on it again.
Worse thing is, my Bamboo is starting to show fatigue. I don't really have the money to buy a bigger, better tablet and I fell like I've leeched off my parents enough already.
So maybe I will have to switch to traditional methods only again in a few months, except my scanner works only when it fells like it. That's no good.

I have this strange urge to actually write something about my life here. Don't get used to it, but maybe I'll warm up to the idea of blogging one day...

What begins anew? My higher education! After a year of disappointment and another one recalibrating myself I have finally became a student in the fabled PJWSTK. If you're wondering what that is, head here http://www.pjwstk.edu.pl/?kat=239 I'm in the New Media Art department.
That also means I'm living in Warsaw now. Maybe it's not NY, but it's a big stinkin' city alright. Also more racially diverse than my hometown, meaning that maybe there will appear more PoCs among my characters, now t

I don't get angry easily. I'm quick to forgive and forget. But there is one thing that throws me into an AVGN level rage.
It's that [redacted] miserable [redacted][redacted] scrap metal [redacted] excuse for a laptop! Not only is the thing slow, but it has problems swith backlighting the screen - it goes black for no reason. Well, guess what, now it's lights out for good, with occassional flutter or five seconds dim light. What's worse, it's not only the sole machine I can work on here - it's the sole machine available to me that has the right software (even if it chokes it). And I don't have the original installer.
That's one problem with

Nothing like temporary solutions. The light in my laptop died entirely, so I'm using a desk light to see what I'm typing :D Anyway, it seems this won't be for long.
I'm considering buying a cheap netbook for web surfing and, as I said before, it's possible I could use institute PCs for school projects. So my education is not in jeopardy (I'm aiming for getting scholarship next year, so no slacking for me). It also seems the huge, fast PC from home was actually supposed to be for me, so I might be getting it here in Warsaw in foreseeable future. This means I'll get to play DoW here as well... oh wait, scholarship.

Sorry for not uploading anything in such a long time (hope you remember I still exist). It just seems my creativity has been all but depleted by another onslaught of school projects. Not to mention it's particularly hard to be cheerfully creative when you're feeling as down as I do.
